Acadian Ambulance has begun running Critical Care Transport (CCT) units in the Acadiana area. Dr. Rosemary St. Clergy is one of the key players in training our medics on the advanced skills needed to provide this high level of service. Dr. St. Clergy interviews Brody Eskind, one of our medics who has been working a lot of Critical Care Transports.

Dr. Ross Judice and Quality Improvement Manager – Mark Fryou stage a “Mystery Customer” encounter to evaluate medics in the field. This encounter focuses on the medic’s ability to capture a 12 lead ECG when presented with the appropriate symptoms.

Chris Mixon, of Studio-A, had the opportunity to speak with Dr. James Broselow, inventor of the Broselow Tape system. During the interview, Dr. Broselow discusses the results of a study that looked at the accuracy of the Broselow Tape when used with obese children.Â

Dr. Ross Judice gathered together the Medical Directors of Acadian Ambulance to talk about cutting edge EMS practice and research. These Medical Directors represent Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana and our offshore division. The Field Training Officers attended and presented on topics ranging from hypothermia in the post cardiac resuscitation patient, Fentanyl vs. Morphine in pain management,  Phenergan vs. Zofran to manage nausea and vomiting, The cardiac alert system, CPAP, and field intubations.
