MRSA – Currently a Hot Topic

MRSA photoMethicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a topic you will be hearing more about in the coming months.  The Education Coordinators at Acadian Ambulance Service are putting together a course on the subject that all basic and paramedic employees will complete in early 2008.  Below are links to information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention so you can get an overview of how MRSA affects us in the pre-hospital environment.

    MRSA and other hospital based infections are going to continue to be a concern. The new CBT at Acadian University addresses ambulance disinfection, handwashing and other prevention measures.
